Community Mental Health PHP

A partial hospitalization program is a structured community mental health program. These programs take place for several hours daily, about three to five days per week. They’re best suited for people who don’t necessarily need inpatient treatment. The hours of operation for these programs are generally between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

If you’re considering starting or working as a provider in a community mental health PHP, you must’ve your Level 2 fingerprints taken. You must submit your fingerprints to an FDLE-approved center such as FEFPS. Our center is veteran-founded, offering livescan, high quality, and affordable fingerprinting.

What is a Community Mental Health PHP?

Today, mental health programs are becoming more common and essential. PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program) is a program where patients can receive mental health treatment without being hospitalized. This means that they receive therapy and other treatments throughout the day and can go home at the end of the day.

A community mental health partial hospitalization program is usually combined with a support program. By integrating these two programs, the patient receives the help they need to remain independent, healthy, and able to go about their daily lives. This program provides a safe environment where individuals can learn healthy coping skills. They also provide a routine and structure to a mental health patient’s days.

Types of Counseling Involved in Partial Hospitalization Program

Depending on your licensure and the service providers you’ve access to, you may provide mental health counseling or a more comprehensive range of services. A partial hospitalization program is individualized based on each person’s background, needs, and other unique situations.

Psychotherapy:

Psychotherapy, also known as talk therapy, works well for teens to help them cope with life challenges and other mental health issues. This type of counseling has proven to assist teens suffering from various mental health disorders such as PTSD, anxiety, or depression. Medication is prescribed, along with psychotherapy counseling, to help teens manage their stress and regulate their mood,

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy:

Cognitive behavioral therapy allows people to self-reflect and becomes aware of their feelings and thoughts, which can influence their life choices. Helping people identify their unhelpful patterns or behaviors can empower them to replace their old actions with new habits. These habits can help them achieve their goals and regulate their emotions.

Family Therapy:

Family therapy is a part of a long-term recovery process. When a person is suffering from mental health issues, and as they progress on their healing journey, they need support from the family. Family therapy can help with family dynamics and improve relationships.

Social Skills Therapy:

A partial hospitalization program provides social skills therapy to young adults, giving them access to valuable life tools. Therapists in the partial hospitalization program help them learn and practice stress management techniques and regulate their emotions. By assisting them to become solution-oriented, social skills therapy gives them access to tools and improves their relationships.
