Veterans Desk, Inc. Directory Standards
Effective Date: [Month Day, Year]
Last Updated: [Month Day, Year]
These Directory Standards (“Standards”) explain how listings appear on the Veterans Desk, Inc. (“Veterans Desk,” “we,” “us,” “our”) directory and what our listing indicators mean.
Veterans Desk is an independent Florida nonprofit recognized as an IRS 501(c)(3) public charity. We are not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (“VA”) or any government agency.
1) Purpose of the Directory
The directory is a public-facing educational resource intended to help users locate community resources and professional profiles relevant to VA Community Care navigation and access.
The directory is not a credentialing body, not an insurer, not a network administrator, and not a guarantor of any participation status, authorizations, reimbursement, claim payment, or outcomes.
2) Platform-Only and No Endorsement
A) Platform-only
Veterans Desk provides a directory platform and publishing standards. We do not provide clinical care, make VA eligibility decisions, approve authorizations, or determine payment.
B) No endorsement
A listing, badge, indicator, or “verification” marker:
- is not an endorsement or recommendation,
- is not a guarantee of competence, quality, availability, network participation, referrals, reimbursement, or outcomes,
- does not mean Veterans Desk supervises, employs, or controls the listed party.
3) What “Verification” Means on Veterans Desk
If we use terms like “Verified,” “Eligibility Met,” “Background Screening Completed,” or “Education Completed,” those terms mean only what we state here:
Verification indicates listing eligibility criteria were met at the time of review, based on the information available to Veterans Desk.
Verification does not mean:
- The person will be accepted into any VA-related network,
- A provider is currently in-network,
- A coordinator guarantees approvals or timelines,
- Veterans Desk has audited clinical outcomes or business practices,
- Veterans Desk has performed full credentialing or continuous monitoring unless explicitly stated.
We may also display “Self-Reported” information (clearly labeled) that we have not independently verified.
4) Listing Categories
We may list the following categories (as applicable):
- Providers/Clinics/Practices
- Enrollment Coordinators (independent professionals)
- Organizations and resources
- Educational materials and program pages
Standards can apply differently by category.
5) Baseline Listing Requirements (All Listings)
To be published and remain published, listings must generally:
- Provide accurate, non-misleading information.
- Use business/professional contact details (where applicable).
- Agree to the Site’s Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and No-PHI rules.
- Not post prohibited content (fraudulent, harassing, discriminatory, illegal, or deceptive).
- Not imply affiliation with VA or Veterans Desk beyond what is true.
Veterans Desk may require additional documentation depending on the listing category.
6) Provider Listing Requirements (Typical)
Depending on the directory section, a provider listing may require:
- Active license status (where applicable) and professional identifiers (e.g., NPI, state license number)
- Practice contact information and service area
- Specialty/discipline information (self-reported unless verified)
- Agreement not to post PHI or request PHI through the platform
- Agreement not to claim VA authorization decisions or guarantee reimbursements
Important: Veterans Desk does not guarantee that any listed Provider is currently in the VA Community Care Network, is accepting VA Community Care patients, or will be reimbursed for any services.
7) Enrollment Coordinator Standards (Independent Professionals)
Enrollment Coordinators listed on the Veterans Desk are independent professionals (platform members, not employees).
A) Relationship boundary (non-negotiable)
- Providers engage coordinators directly under a separate agreement between those parties.
- Veterans Desk does not assign coordinators, set fees, supervise services, control methods, or guarantee outcomes.
- Coordinators have no authority to bind the Veterans Desk.
B) Eligibility criteria for listing (examples)
We may require one or more of the following to be listed as an Enrollment Coordinator:
- Completion of an education module (as defined on the Site)
- Background screening criteria completion (as defined on the Site)
- Agreement to No-PHI and data security requirements
- Agreement to advertising and claims rules (see Section 10)
C) Prohibited Coordinator claims
Enrollment Coordinators may not state or imply:
- “Guaranteed VA approval,” “Guaranteed payment,” “Guaranteed credentialing,” or “Guaranteed timelines”
- That they represent the VA, Optum, TriWest, or Veterans Desk
- That Veterans Desk endorses or supervises their services
- That they can create VA authorizations or decide eligibility
Violations may result in removal.
8) Accuracy, Updates, and Continuous Monitoring
Listings may become outdated. We encourage listed parties to update their profiles promptly.
Unless explicitly stated, Veterans Desk does not provide continuous monitoring of:
- License status changes,
- Sanctions,
- Network participation status,
We may perform periodic spot checks or require periodic re-attestation as part of directory maintenance.
9) Reviews, Ratings, and Testimonials (If Offered)
If the Site displays reviews or testimonials:
- We may moderate for profanity, privacy violations, hate/harassment, deception, and policy violations.
- Reviews reflect user experiences and may not be representative.
- Reviews do not change the platform-only and no-endorsement nature of the directory.
10) Advertising, Claims, and “No Guarantee” Rules
All listings must comply with these standards:
- No false or misleading claims.
- No claims of guaranteed outcomes (network acceptance, credentialing approval, authorizations, payment, or timelines).
- No use of Veterans Desk name/logos in a way that implies endorsement without permission.
- Clear separation between self-reported information and verified indicators.
We may require corrections as a condition of continued listing.
11) Prohibited Content
Listings must not include:
- PHI or patient-specific medical information
- Identity documents or sensitive personal identifiers intended for public display
- Harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or threats
- Illegal content, deceptive solicitations, or spam
- Malware links or attempts to compromise site security
12) Removal, Suspension, and Appeals
We may remove or suspend listings at our discretion for:
- Inaccurate or misleading information,
- Policy violations,
- Security or Fraud concerns,
- Failure to meet listing eligibility standards,
- Conduct that creates risk to users or to the integrity of the directory.
Appeals
To appeal a removal or suspension, email [support@veteransdesk.org] with:
- Listing name + URL (if available),
- The reason you believe the action was incorrect,
- The correction or evidence you are providing.
We may request additional information before restoring a listing.
13) Disclaimers
The directory is provided “as is” and “as available.” Veterans Desk makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of listings. Users are responsible for verifying credentials, participation status, and fit for their needs.
