Who We Are, Who We Serve, and How We Build Impact

Our Nonprofit Identity

Veterans Desk, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization built by Veterans and their families. We were born out of lived experience—navigating VA healthcare, chasing down referrals, waiting for Community Care approvals, and realizing how much confusion stood between Veterans and the care they had already earned.
Our nonprofit exists for one purpose: to remove barriers between Veterans and timely, compassionate care.
We’re not a hospital, and we don’t replace the VA. What we do is make the journey clearer and more manageable. We:

  • Clarify the VA Community Care process for Veterans and caregivers.
  • Connect Veterans with trusted community providers.
  • Support providers with enrollment help so they can join the VA Community Care Network (CCN).

Fund and gift grants to Veteran-focused nonprofits and partners who share our mission.

Who We Serve in the Community

Veterans and Their Families

Community Healthcare Providers

  • Osteopathic physicians, behavioral health specialists, physical therapists, imaging centers, and others willing to serve Veterans.
  • Providers who want to join CCN but face overwhelming paperwork, credentialing hurdles, or Optum/TriWest enrollment.
  • Clinicians already in CCN who need help staying current with licenses, malpractice coverage, and CAQH profiles.

Nonprofit Partners and Community Organizations

  • Local nonprofits helping Veterans with housing, food, wellness, education, and family support.
  • Community partners, faith groups, and civic organizations that need micro-grants to start or sustain Veteran programs.
  • Organizations that expand Veterans Desk’s mission by providing direct services where they’re needed most.

Why We Serve

The why is deeply personal.

Our founders—Veterans and family members—know firsthand the frustration of Community Care: multiple referrals for the same condition, conflicting instructions, and delays caused not by lack of care, but by paperwork snags. At one point, it was clear: we couldn’t be the only ones lost in this maze.

That’s when Veterans Desk was born: a Veteran-led nonprofit dedicated to shining a light through the process and building tools to help others avoid the same pitfalls.

We serve because:

Veterans earned it

Healthcare isn’t a handout; it’s a benefit paid for through service.

Families need it.

Caregivers deserve clarity, not confusion.

Providers want it

Doctors want to help, but many give up on the red tape.

Communities benefit

Strong Veteran support strengthens families, neighborhoods, and local economies.

How We Structure Our Nonprofit Grants

Veterans Desk is a gifting nonprofit. Beyond building resources, we also fund and empower other organizations serving Veterans through micro-grants and community partnerships.

How We Structure Ourselves

Accountability is our backbone.

Our Services and Programs

Alongside grants, Veterans Desk provides:

Example of Impact

In 2024, a local nonprofit needed emergency rental aid for Veteran families facing eviction. Veterans Desk approved a micro-grant within two weeks, preventing three families from losing their homes.

At the same time, our Coordinators helped a local osteopathic clinic complete Optum enrollment. Within a month, the clinic began receiving Veteran referrals. Those same families, stabilized in housing, now had access to care nearby.

That’s the Veterans Desk model in action: remove barriers, empower partners, and accelerate care.

Our Promise

Veterans Desk is more than a nonprofit—it’s a movement of clarity and connection.
We promise to:

Keep Veterans first, always.

Build tools and networks that simplify the system.

Fund nonprofits that expand reach and impact.

Support providers so they can focus on care, not paperwork.

Stay accountable with transparent reporting.

If you’re a Veteran or family member—know this

Veterans Desk is here for you.

If you’re a provider, we want you on this journey with us. Let us handle the red tape so you can focus on what matters most: caring for Veterans.

If you’re a nonprofit, apply for a grant. Together, we can stretch resources further, fill gaps faster, and bring more support directly to the people who need it.

And if you’re a donor or partner, stand with us. Every dollar, every connection, every bit of support helps us clear the path, train Coordinators, and open new doors to care for Veterans.
