Section 1 · The Hub

What the Direct Care Providers Hub is.

A reference resource and the home of Veterans Desk’s Independent Members Directory for all practicing physicians, surgeons, clinicians, and specialty care providers — every licensed direct care professional who delivers care to veterans through the VA Community Care Network, TRICARE, and CHAMPVA. Primary care, specialty medicine, surgical specialties, advanced practice, behavioral health, and rehabilitation are all part of the same ecosystem. The Hub is educational. The directory is informational. Every member operates their own independent practice.

Since the MISSION Act took effect in 2019, roughly four in ten VA health care encounters now happen outside VA walls — in private clinics, hospitals, surgical centers, therapy offices, and community behavioral health practices. The DCP Hub is where veterans find independent licensed physicians, surgeons, clinicians, and specialty care providers participating in the VA Community Care Network — and where those practices find plain-language education on CCN clinical workflow, HSRM documentation, access standards, and the patterns of veteran care that civilian training rarely covers.

The clinical realities the Hub addresses include the two-TPA structure (Optum administers Regions 1–3; TriWest administers Regions 4–5), the January 2026 CCN claims hold for VA and CMS rate validation, the Senator Elizabeth Dole Act removal of the second-opinion bottleneck for best-medical-interest determinations, and the operational mechanics of HSRM, EPS, and HPP that determine whether a participating practice runs smoothly or struggles with referral cycle delays.

Section 2 · Membership Process

Become a Member in Four Steps

Joining the Independent Members Directory is straightforward. We verify your independent practice credentials, you choose your tier, and your member profile goes live. The whole process typically takes 5–10 business days.

1

Submit Your Member Profile

Complete the membership sign-up form with your practice name, clinical specialty, state license, NPI, and CCN participation status. About 10 minutes.

2

Verification Review

We confirm active state license, NPI validity, and CCN/TRICARE participation status. We don’t audit your practice — we verify what’s already public record.

3

Sign Up One Flat Membership

Pick the membership tier that fits your practice — Standard, Professional, or Featured. Tiers are administrative, not preferential.

4

Member Profile Goes Live

Your listing publishes within 48 hours of verification. Edit your profile anytime through the member portal.

Section 3 · Membership

One flat membership.

Veterans Desk lists independent professionals who serve the veteran community — credentialing specialists, billers, compliance pros, and other healthcare-operations members. Every listed member pays the same flat fee. No tiers. No preferred placement. No patient steering.

Section 4 · What to Expect

What to Expect From Veterans Desk

Transparency about what we do, what we don’t do, and where the lines are drawn between our role as an educational nonprofit and your role as an independent provider.

1

You Remain Fully Independent

Veterans Desk does not employ, manage, supervise, or direct your clinical practice. You operate independently as a licensed clinician, and your clinical relationship with veterans is yours alone.

2

No Patient Steering or Referral Fees

We list participating members; veterans choose their own providers. We never accept payment for directory placement order, never refer for kickbacks, and never insert ourselves between you and your patient.

3

Educational Content Only

Our resources explain how CCN clinical workflow works at a policy level. We do not provide clinical advice, treatment recommendations, or legal guidance. Consult your malpractice carrier, your attorney, and the VA directly.

4

No PHI Handling

Veterans Desk is not a HIPAA-covered entity. We never touch, transmit, or store Protected Health Information. Clinical communications happen between you and the veteran — outside our platform entirely, through HSRM and your own EMR.

5

Plain Communication

You'll hear from us when something matters: directory updates, content opportunities, sponsorship announcements, regulatory changes that affect clinical practice. No daily marketing emails, no upsell pressure.

6

Mutual Cancellation

Cancel your membership anytime through the member portal — your profile is removed within 48 hours. We may also remove members for license lapses or directory standards violations, with notice.
