Independent Members Directory

Three Tiers. No Placement Fees. Your Practice Stays Yours.

Membership in the Veterans Desk Independent Members Directory for licensed Direct Care Support Professionals serving veterans through VA Community Care, TRICARE, and CHAMPVA. Three transparent tiers, all month-to-month, no contracts. Tiers fund the platform — they do not change directory ranking, copay relief access, or how veterans see you.

What membership is: A verified business listing in our Independent Members Directory, with access to member resources and educational content. What membership is not: Employment, placement, referral, or representation. Veterans Desk is not a staffing agency and does not place professionals into jobs. Every member operates their own independent practice or business.

What Membership Doesn't Buy.

Veterans Desk is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. To stay compliant — and to stay honest with veterans — there are things tier upgrades explicitly do not do. We name them here so members and veterans see the same boundaries.

Tiers Do Not Influence Veteran-Facing Search

When a veteran searches the Independent Members Directory, the results are filtered and ordered by what the veteran needs — specialty, location, languages, accepted payers — not by what tier the member pays for. Featured placement is visible to other members and to the public-facing directory display order, but it does not change which members veterans see for their specific search.

Tiers Do Not Influence Copay Relief Access

Veterans applying for the Veterans Desk Copay Relief Program are evaluated based on financial need and program eligibility. Member tier has zero effect on whether a veteran qualifies, how much they receive, or which providers they can use the relief with.

No Patient Steering, No Referral Fees

Veterans Desk never accepts payment to refer specific patients to specific members. Members never pay for referrals. Veterans choose their own providers. We do not insert ourselves between you and your patient. The directory is informational; the choice is the veteran's.

No Employment, No Placement

Veterans Desk does not employ DCSPs, does not place DCSPs into jobs, and does not bill clients for member hours. Every member operates their own independent practice or business. The member–Veterans Desk relationship is membership, period.

Tiers Are Not Sponsorships

Membership tiers are a service fee for directory listing, profile features, and member resources. They are not sponsorships, not advertising, not endorsements. Veterans Desk's editorial content, podcast booking, board decisions, and content recommendations are made independently of any member's tier or payment status.

No PHI Handling

Veterans Desk is not a HIPAA-covered entity. We never touch, transmit, or store Protected Health Information. Patient communications happen between the member and the veteran — outside our platform entirely. Member profiles contain business information only, never patient information.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions.

Who is eligible to become a member?
Independent licensed Direct Care Support Professionals and the businesses they operate, providing services to veterans through VA Community Care Network, TRICARE, CHAMPVA, or related government-payer healthcare workflow. This includes credentialing specialists, medical billers, enrollment coordinators, prior authorization analysts, compliance officers, HIM specialists, practice managers, and the dozens of other professional categories covered in the DCSP Hub. You must operate your own business or practice — Veterans Desk does not list individual employees of other organizations as members.
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time through the member portal. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. There are no fees, penalties, or contract obligations for changing tiers.

You can cancel anytime from the member portal. Your directory listing remains active until the end of your current paid billing period, then it goes inactive. You keep access to the member portal to update or remove your data. We do not lock you in, charge cancellation fees, or make cancellation difficult. If you ever want to come back, you can reactivate at any tier without losing your past content or profile data.

Veterans search the Independent Members Directory by service type, specialty, location, languages, and the government payers your practice accepts. Results show every member whose profile matches the veteran’s search filters. Member tier influences placement order in the public directory listing, but does not exclude lower-tier members from search results. All members appear when their qualifications match. Veterans then choose who to contact — Veterans Desk does not contact members on a veteran’s behalf or share veteran contact information with members.

During member sign-up, you submit professional credentials (CMA, CCMA, RMA, RN, LPN, CPC, CCS, CHES, or other applicable certifications) and we confirm they exist and are current with the issuing body. This is informational verification, not endorsement. Veterans Desk does not vouch for the quality of your work or guarantee outcomes — verification only confirms that the credentials you list are real and valid.

No. Veterans Desk receives no percentage, no commission, no referral fee, and no transaction cut from any work you do. The flat monthly tier fee is the only payment between you and Veterans Desk. We are not in your billing flow. We are not a clearinghouse. We are a directory and educational hub.

Member-to-member or veteran-to-member disputes are not within Veterans Desk’s authority to resolve. If there is a credentialing complaint that affects a member’s eligibility for listing, contact info@veteransdesk.org with documentation and we will review whether the member meets the directory’s standards. For business disputes, professional licensure complaints, or patient care concerns, contact the appropriate state regulatory body.
Membership fees are typically deductible as a business expense for the practice or business that pays them — like any professional directory listing fee. They are not a charitable contribution because you are receiving services (directory listing, profile features, member resources) in exchange for the fee. If your business or practice donates separately to Veterans Desk’s nonprofit programs (such as the Copay Relief Fund), those donations may be deductible as charitable contributions. Consult your tax professional for your specific situation.
Click the “Start” button on the tier you want above, or go to the member portal directly. You will create your business account, submit your credentials for verification, build your profile, and pay your first month’s fee. Profile review and credential verification typically take 3–5 business days. Once approved, your directory listing goes live and you have access to the member portal.
