Veterans and their dependents coping with PTSD, traumatic brain injury (TBI), developmental disabilities, or behavioral health challenges often benefit from structured, evidence-based interventions like Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Under the supervision of a BCBA, Behavior Technicians:
Support ABA care plans for both veterans and eligible dependents in home, school, or clinic environments.
Work under the oversight of a licensed and credentialed BCBA, contributing to evidence-based treatment delivery.

No. Behavior Technicians, including RBTs, must work under the supervision of a BCBA or approved agency and are not authorized to bill the VA independently.
Yes, provided the service location is authorized within the VA-approved ABA treatment plan and supervised appropriately.
Yes. Your services are included in the supervising provider’s billing. Reimbursement is handled through the BCBA or agency under an authorized care plan.
No. You must be affiliated with a supervising provider or organization enrolled in the VA CCN. Your enrollment and billing are managed through their profile.
Possibly. If permitted in the treatment plan and state regulations allow, telehealth may be used for parent training, data review, or technician supervision.
Licensed Behavior Technicians can begin the enrollment process in the VA Community Care Network through Optum (Regions 1–3) or TriWest (Regions 4–5). Veterans Desk provides education. The VA’s administrators handle enrollment.
