Yes. Independently licensed providers (e.g., LCSWs) may deliver psychotherapy services under VA authorization. Supervision may be required for LMSWs based on state law.
Yes. Case management is reimbursable when it is medically necessary and included in the veteran’s authorized treatment plan.
Yes. Many social work services can be delivered remotely via secure telehealth platforms, when permitted by the CCN and the VA.
Not if you are independently licensed (LCSW or equivalent). Associate-level providers (LMSWs) may require supervision depending on state regulations and VA region policies.
Licensed Licensed Social Worker can begin the enrollment process through Optum (Regions 1–3) or TriWest (Regions 4–5). Veterans Desk provides education. The VA’s administrators handle enrollment.
