Yes. Surgeries such as joint replacements, arthroscopy, spinal operations, and fracture management are covered when pre-authorized through the veteran’s care plan.
Absolutely. Orthopaedic surgeons are encouraged to recommend and coordinate physical therapy or other rehabilitative services in collaboration with VA providers to ensure continuity of care.
Yes. Diagnostic services, including X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans, are reimbursable when medically necessary and part of an approved treatment plan.
Yes. The VA CCN allows care for both acute and chronic orthopaedic conditions as long as the services are included in the veteran’s authorized care plan.
Licensed Orthopaedic Surgeon can begin the enrollment process in the VA Community Care Network through Optum (Regions 1–3) or TriWest (Regions 4–5). Veterans Desk provides education. The VA’s administrators handle enrollment.
