Yes. Licensed providers—including physicians, nurse practitioners, and PAs—may independently offer VA-authorized urgent care services.
Yes. If the visit is related to an acute worsening of a chronic condition (e.g., asthma, diabetes, hypertension) and is medically necessary, it may be covered under VA CCN.
Absolutely. You are encouraged to share records and updates with VA primary care and specialty teams to ensure seamless follow-up care.
Services include treatment for minor infections, injuries (e.g., sprains, cuts), allergic reactions, flu symptoms, and other acute, non-life-threatening conditions.
Licensed Urgent Care Provider can begin the enrollment process through Optum (Regions 1–3) or TriWest (Regions 4–5). Veterans Desk provides education. The VA’s administrators handle enrollment.
